Matteo Nannini is an Italian artist born in 1979 in Bologna who lives and works in Cento, Ferrara, Italy. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Painter by profession since 1997, he has taught drawing and painting in local schools in Emilia-Romagna since 1998. He has exhibited in various personal, collective, event and art fairs in cities such as: Bologna, Florence, Parma, Piacenza, Milan, Budapest, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Shanghai or London. His works belong to many public and private collections in Italy, England, France, Spain, Holland, Hungary, United States and Australia. His favorite means of expression is oil painting achieved on any support. Characterized by a full-bodied and curious, sometimes intimate painting, Matteo does not renounce to surrealist and metaphysical situations less or more explicit. Since 2012, he has been involved in comics and illustration. In spring 2015, he published a first adventure of Detective Wiland (JWWiland), a comic character entirely created by him (subject, stories, dialogues and drawings). In 2016, he founded Nannini Editore: editorial market and online portal relating to Fumetto and author's Grafica. The same year, he opened a course to start comics at the SAA in Cento. He also collaborates with others numerous newspapers and publishers in Italy.

Matteo Nannini est un artiste italien né en 1979 qui vit et travaille à Cento, Ferrara, en Italie. Il a fait ses études à l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Bologne. Peintre de profession depuis 1997, il enseigne depuis 1998 le dessin et la peinture dans les écoles locales d’Émilie-Romagne. A ce jour, il a exposé dans diverses foires personnelles, collectives, événementielles et d’art dans des villes telles que: Bologne, Florence, Parme, Plaisance, Milan, Budapest, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, La Haye, Shanghai ou Londres. Ses œuvres font partie de collections publiques et privées en Italie, Angleterre, France, Espagne, Hollande, Hongrie, États-Unis et Australie. Son moyen d’expression favori est la peinture à l’huile réalisée sur n’importe quel support. Caractérisé par une peinture corsée et curieuse, parfois intime, Matteo ne renonce pas à des situations surréalistes et métaphysiques plus ou moins explicites. Depuis 2012, il est impliqué dans la bande dessinée et l’illustration. Au printemps 2015, il publie la première aventure de Détective Wiland (JWWiland), personnage comique entièrement créé par lui (sujet, histoires, dialogues et dessins). En 2016, il fonde Nannini Editore: marché éditorial et portail en ligne relatif au Fumetto et à la Grafica d’auteur. La même année, il ouvre un cours pour commencer la bande dessinée à la SAA de Cento. Il collabore aussi avec de nombreux autres journaux et éditeurs en Italie.
