About the Item
Michael Harrell was born in Florida in 1964. He began painting nautical scenes at a young age and created his first published work at age 7. After receiving his BFA from the University of Georgia, Harrell worked as a freelance illustrator for Mastercard, American Express, and Paramount Pictures. Harrell's early fine art career began with exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club of New York, the Philadelphia Watercolor Club, and the North American Marine Arts Society in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Harrell's paintings have appeared in the movie, "The Truman Show," and are displayed in the Governor of the State of Florida's office as well as the Secretary of State's office. In 2004, “The Artist Magazine” listed Michael as one of the top 20 artists in America to watch.
