About the Item
Bay Area artist Michelle Fillmore found her love of oil painting at the University of Las Vegas, where she graduated with a BA in Painting and Drawing in 2015. Fillmore’s tightly controlled photorealistic style depicting surrealistic imagery is intended to celebrate humanity's ability to overcome, change, and transform.
This one-of-a-kind oil on canvas painting measures 48 inches square. This artwork is signed on the front and back. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. It does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Fillmore’s intricately detailed paintings, each of which takes a month to create, are autobiographical metaphors. Through her work, she aims to start a discussion about mental health and its inherent stigmas and challenges. Fillmore's artworks embody the beauty of imperfection and the suggestion that childhood adversities can be opportunities for growth.
Fillmore says of her creative process, “I paint the things I do partially as a way to take the parts of my past that once made me feel isolated and turn them into opportunities to connect.”
Now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Fillmore exhibits nationally.

- Seas of Your Imagination (Purple)Located in Los Angeles, CAAmanda Arrou-tea's mesmerizing hyperrealist paintings have captivated audiences around the world with her mastery of color, light, and shadow. Through her expert use of oil on canvas, Arrou-tea creates a lifelike representation of people and mermaids, with intricate details and subtle nuances. The interplay of light and shadow adds a lifelike quality to the painting, creating a sense of depth and movement. Each of her original pieces is a unique and masterful expression of her artistry. This original artwork is 28 inches tall by 21 inches wide. It is framed in a black frame. Size and price include frame. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. It is signed by the artist on the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Amanda Arrou-tea (aka Mandi Oh) was born in the coastal city of San Sebastián in the Basque Country in the North of Spain. From a very young age, she felt a connection with mermaids, assuming they were real. As a deep Cancerian, she started portraying her feelings in oil on canvas when she was only nine years old. She began studying Fine Arts and attending various Universities with Erasmus and Seneca scholarships between Spain and France. These experiences made her develop a broader vision of painting, photography, and video. After finishing her degree in Fine Arts, Amanda Arrou-tea's artistic journey led her to Mexico, where she continued to hone her craft. The mystical energies, the sea salt, and the vibrant culture of the country deeply influenced her artwork, which began to incorporate elements of hyperrealism, particularly in her depictions of people in the water. Arrou-tea's use of negative space in a painting is also a defining feature of her style, allowing her subjects to be the focus while the background creates a sense of depth and dimension. After years of study, experimentation, and curatorships, Arrou-tea eventually settled down in Berlin, Germany, where she continues to create original works of art that are collected and admired internationally. Her bold figurative paintings are a testament to her mastery of the hyperrealism technique and her ability to capture the essence of her subjects in stunning detail.
