ONIRIX is a project about how we remember and interpret our own dreams. Nine years ago the artist had three dreams in three different nights. He painted these dreams in three parts, each part having three sequences. The results are the nine paintings, every panting representing a scene from the three dreams. Each painting has attached a text written by the artist like in a screenplay.
Scene I -The Big Closed Gate - FM
My feet moved fast avoiding some obstacles on the busy city street. It was dark and I was late to deliver a small carton box that I was holding in one hand, while in the other I had the address written on a sheet of paper, where this package was supposed to arrive. I suddenly stopped in front of a big rusty gate that seemed to be closed for a long time now.
Behind the gate, I could somehow see a huge empty yard and factory-shaped building far in the distance. A smaller building was in front of the factory that had a faded light bulb on its outside wall. I first thought that it was maybe the wrong address, so I checked my paper again, but this was it.
It was a dark night and everything seemed to have a red-rusty hue, and I just stood there, in a blue outfit with the package and the paper in my hands, trying to figure out how I could pass this seemingly inaccessible gate.
