Mike Quon is a contemporary American artist celebrated for his vibrant, expressive works that capture the spirit of everyday life through a bold, colorful lens. Blending elements of pop art, urban sketching, and a laid-back West Coast vibe, Quon brings cityscapes, cultural landmarks, and playful scenes to life with graphic clarity and spontaneous energy.
Born into a creative family, Quon was inspired early on by his father, a professional animator who worked with Walt Disney during the golden age of animation. This heritage sparked his lifelong passion for visual storytelling and dynamic composition.
Quon developed his unique voice through formative mentorships with California art legends Richard Diebenkorn and Ed Ruscha. From Diebenkorn, he embraced a love for color fields and gestural abstraction; from Ruscha, he drew inspiration from pop art and the visual language of popular culture.
Today, Mike Quon's work spans painting, drawing, and mixed media, all unified by bold color palettes and spontaneous line work. His art invites viewers to rediscover the world with fresh eyes—through a lens of joy, wit, and wonder.
