About the Item
"Personaje" (seated) acrylic on canvas painting by Southern California artist Mike Rivero. Personaje (sitting) is painted in blue, green, pink, red, black white, orange, set on a taupe, light and hot pink background. Signed and dated at bottom right and on reverse. Also dated 2020 on reverse.
The measurement given is approximate until framing is complete (measures H 36" and W 24" unframed).
This is artist Mike Rivero’s first series of paintings in 2020, in which *he returns to his traditional figurative paintings. The colors of the figures are saturated, contrasted by a more muted palette in the background. This contrast place the figures in a protagonist’s role. In some cases the titles are different than previous series in an effort to give each painting its own identity. Please refer to images 11 to 17 to view the complete series.
This is a preview and therefore we are showing the artwork unframed. The paintings will soon go to the framer, where they will placed in personally selected floating wood frames. We will included additional images of the framed artwork when available.
Inside the studio with Mike Rivero is quite an experience. Mike not only enjoys painting, he also enjoys sharing the knowledge of art that he has acquired over the years and his love of music. Mike was born with a natural affinity to be an artist, continuing to paint over time, and later studying with private mentors. Mike is inspired by the Bay Area Figurative Art movement and spends much time painting figures of his imagination in a most intriguing way. Viewers will take notice that many of his paintings are called *FIGURA or PERSONAJE, though the title is used often, each of these paintings is an original and unlike any other painted by the artist.
