Step by step - 21st Century Contemporary Painting of a boy standing on a log

2024

About the Item

Mitzy Renooy Step by step 80 x 40 cm Frame included in price, size with frame: 85 x 42 cm Dutch artist Mitzy Renooy, a former camera woman for national television, did follow art academy to learn to paint in an own style. Her education was a great succes, she did find her way soon. One of her teachers fell in love with her sketchbooks and advised her to paint like sketching in her sketchbook. Her own style was born! Now she knew how to capture movement, just as she liked to do as a camera woman 'in her former life' In her works she builds subjects as sphere, light/darkness, gesture, reflections, moving and strong rhythm. Her use of color, her firm brushstrokes, are unique and easy to recognize. In all subjects she captures her own style is always there. During her five year study on the art academy she already began to sell works very often. In our gallery we're proud to have the exclusivity to show her works in solo exhibitions every few years. This painting will be shipped in a custom made wooden crate, we ship worldwide, for free..

My painting is an inquiry. I make images as a way of responding to experiences that are important to me. Experiences that help me to understand why I’m in this world often happens when I am outside in large open spaces. Painted images act as a tool. I respond to the spaces my art suggests. That response is usually non-verbal. I am interested in the experience of non-duality that “getting lost” in big spaces can sometimes produce for me. The paintings have gone through a range of artistic treatments with the recent years seeing a focus on space, light, textures, atmosphere and distance. My landscape paintings are made from memory, not from on-site drawings or photographs. I use memory as a filtering agent to remove non-essential visual elements. When a work is successful, it must have a sense of poetry. There is nothing “new...
