About the Item
In this piece, I capture the spirit of independence and defiance. The
central figure stands poised yet resolute, a silent assertion of self in
a structured environment. The cats, with their contrasting postures,
echo themes of curiosity and composure. The stark monochrome palette
against the subtle hues evokes a timeless struggle between conformity
and personal liberty. It's an ode to the courage of claiming one's space
in the world. What's wrong with your appearance? You're a girl, dress
properly! You're already married, wear a proper skirt! If you want to
earn decently, don't wear ripped jeans, a dress or a suit. If you
want to be an artist, paint something real, not this stuff.

to program my brain all my life because that someone probably knows better.) For texture on the primed canvas before painting, a layer of textured paste with small glass particles is applied and then sanded with sandpaper.
Dutch acrylic paints Amsterdam and Italian canvas tm Unico were used.

frame. Painting is packed very carefully in a cardboard box with layers of bubble wrap to protect it.

Name: Natalia Bagatska. Born: 1967, Horodyshche, Ukraine. Lives and works in Kyiv. She graduated from the University of Technology and Design in "clothing design" specialty. Profession: artist. Historical techniques of oil painting, embodied in acrylic paints. Subjects: Still lifes, nature, environment, people. Has more than 30 group and 4 personal exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad.
