About the Item
"Integrity" is a contemporary, expressive figurative acrylic painting by French artist Natalya Mougenot, marking a significant and transformative chapter in her artistic journey.
This evocative work is part of her evolving “Women” series, a profound exploration of femininity, resilience, and personal growth. Through this piece, Natalya probes the complexities of womanhood, celebrating the emotional transparency and inner strength that define her subjects, while channeling her own spiritual connection to the feminine experience.
Deeply rooted in her multicultural heritage and personal identity, Natalya’s painting serves as both tribute and intimate investigation of womanly strength. Her creative process is fearless and intuitive, embracing experimentation and trusting in the dialogue that unfolds between artist and subject. Each brushstroke weaves together tradition, emotion, and self-discovery into a dynamic and heartfelt composition.
“My work is guided by a profound respect for the emotional transparency of women. Through painting, I celebrate their resilience and strength, connecting not only with my subjects but also with my own identity and cultural roots.” — Natalya Mougenot
Natalya’s artistic approach is instinctive and unrestrained, deliberately moving away from traditional or academic conventions. Rejecting limits and formal boundaries, she focuses on capturing the rawness of emotion and the sincerity of the moment.
“I hate limits and restrictions. What matters to me is the rawness of emotion, the sincerity of the moment.”
Central to her practice is the belief that:
“My art is a piece of my soul.”
She paints quickly and spontaneously, capturing what she describes as “the emotional state between breath and thought.” Each work resonates as a visual echo of something deeply felt—unpolished, authentic, and free.

About the Artist:
Originally from Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and now based in Lyon, France, Natalya Mougenot has spent over two decades refining her artistic voice. Her multicultural background and personal experiences deeply inform her bold, emotionally charged works, which are held in private collections around the world.
Natalya’s distinctive visual language blends Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, Art Naïf, and Art Brut, creating works that are raw, intuitive, and deeply human. Her guiding values—authenticity, sincerity, and honesty—are present in every piece she creates.
“Authenticity is everything.
People can always feel when something is real—or when it’s not.
I want my work to be honest, to come from a place that’s true.”
In addition to painting, Natalya is a passionate photographer. Her photographic work—also showcased on this platform—reflects the same poetic, observational spirit as her paintings. Whether capturing quiet urban corners or natural light on an object, her photography serves both as standalone art and as inspiration for future canvases.

Natalya is a contemporary artist from Lyon, France. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes and low mountains. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis when she was struggling with radical life changes. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. Several years ago painting became more than a hobby. It became a way of expressing her emotions and visions, a successive reaction to events of either personal or general concern. Her artist statement: “ I paint as it’s a necessity for my soul to express itself. Being creative for me is overcoming the restrictions. My art is a piece of my soul. I hope my art inspires reflection, provides a release and forms connection at other people’s souls”. She has developed her own vision of art through practicing a lot. She makes use of varying degrees of figuration, abstraction and impressionism by adding a contemporary twist. Abstract art for her is an interesting challenge for understanding inner feelings, a self-expression based on an intuitive approach. In figurative art her main subject remains women. Her artworks representing women contain the raw emotions of women. She also communicates the importance and the power of strong female relationships: “Women are enriched when they bond with each other”. She works in series: among them are "Heart-mind connection" of abstract artworks, "Women", "Bond", "Florals", "Springtime"... She uses various mediums ( acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastels) to create her unique artworks either on canvas or on paper. But she mainly uses acrylic as she works very quickly and expressively by finishing her artwork in one sitting. If Natalya had to pick one quote about her art, she would say : " Art is the reflection of the soul". Natalya goes with her gut and intuition to choose the colors, the lines, the shapes and the texture. She hopes her artworks will give a home a unique personality by filling it with life and color. Her sources of inspirations are Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Gauguin. She also admires the artworks of Joan Mitchell and Banksy.
