Born in Moscow in 1944 in a family of architects. In 1962-1968, she studied at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov with the famous painter, professor Dmitry Zhilinsky. Natalia Nesterova remained one of the most recognized seventies masters. The Fatherland did not deprive her of her awards and titles: State Prize, Triumph Prize, the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, the title of academician and the Honorary Gold Medal of the Academy of Arts. Since 1991 she is a professor of painting at the Russian Academy of Arts. Since 1988, the artist has mostly lived in the United States. She has participated in over sixty individual and group exhibitions at home and abroad. Her paintings are stored in major collections: in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Museum of Oriental Art, the Cosmonautics Museum, the Pleiades Museum, in the collection of Art Modern galleries, the Moscow Palette, MARS (Moscow), in 39 museums of the CIS countries, as well as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), Art Museum (Warsaw), collection of Peter Ludwig (Cologne, Aachen), Art Museum (Seoul), Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, Art Museum (Poznan), Oklahoma Museum, Hal Brom Gallery, Art Museum (Tallinn ), Maya Paul Gallery Lsky (Chicago), private collections in the USA, Europe, America, Asia, Estonia. Her paintings can be described as genre, filled with satirical pathos. Favorite subjects - festive and idle celebrations, pesky rest on the seashore, aimless walks around the city, endless playing cards, many hours of sitting in a cafe. The faces on her canvases often look like masks, the figures froze in artificial mannequin poses, and things in ridiculous positions. Recognizable and topographically authentic city landscapes turn into a fake space, where mise-en-scenes from the theater of the absurdity are played out with false ambiguity. The anti-heroes of Nesterov’s canvases languish with boredom, loneliness and the meaninglessness of their existence, they are empty and hectic. These are the inhabitants of the last Soviet period.

“Good artists borrow. Great artists steal.” A quote oft attributed to various sources that was never actually uttered by any of them. Though Mark Twain elaborated on the sentiment: “Ninety-nine parts of all things that proceed from the intellect are plagiarisms.” In the Framed Series, I use my 1% contribution to combine issues of consumption with my autobiography.
I paint copies of copies of paintings within paintings to reference the appropriation, commodification, and altered continuum of art. My paintings of paintings are based on photographs of originals to perpetuate the continual distillation of form, given the ease with which images are presently exchanged and modified. Further, by reducing historically significant paintings to framed objects hanging on walls, I augment art as a commodity and reconcile the conflict between the artificially assigned monetary value of artworks with the reality that they are simply swirls of paint. In this way, I am also acknowledging the literality of my own work.
I have also altered each copied painting to personalize the context of the pieces and address specific autobiographical ideas. These ideas relate to a range of both recent and distant experiences, both funny and sad.
Although my initial renderings are digital image composites, my medium of choice is oil paint, applied in transparent layers, using the image on the computer screen as a reference. In addition to its lush visual properties, I enjoy the flexibility of oil paint in making acute renderings as well as the evolution of the imagery from paint to digital and back to paint in further protracting both the distillation and evolution of form.

His need of communication made him start boxing, and the success was long in coming. In boxing circles, Flesser became a well established name with a couple of Hungarian championships.
Then came the fatal year 1956, when Soviet tanks crushed the dreams of freedom. Flesser escaped and came to Sweden via Denmark.
In Gothenburg the well known boxing promoter Edvin Alqvist soon became aware of Flesser's capacity as a boxer and offered him a contract. His debut occurred in May 1957...
