Olamilekan OkunadeAn Ode of False Bonds -21st Century, Contemporary, Figurative, Pixel, Modern Men2024
2024
About the Item
An ode of false bonds, depicts a compelling narrative of betrayal and fractured connections, intensifying the sense of delusional emotion and attachment, whereby people tend to be together through thin fragmented, and pixelated lines of unravelling relationship. The composition shows contemplation, distrust, and complex deceit that leads to a woke emotional wreck among brothers who are believed to be one.

Artist Statement
The ideas, issues and events arising from man's quest to contain and contend with these forces form the subject of my paintings. Given this background, my paintings are subtle but much defined with interlocking and wedges of colour combined like a mosaic to produce a solid, architectural structure, enhanced by the textured surface of the paint with women accorded with prominent attention, focus and more emphasis in my composition.
Women live in a male-dominated society, based on local cultural traditions with few rights and are at the receiving end of men's activities and yet strive to eke out and sustain living.
I celebrate them by weaving my composition around them during their hours of need, joy, pain, and other human activities.

Atoke Oni Koroba
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Atoke Oni koroba is the true beauty in a black culture that rests not only in its great artistic history but in the natural values which our African women keep maintaining the African heritage.
This art shows a lot of values from the dark shinning skin tune to the hair styling, bids neckless, and clothing the vintage fashion and heritage.
The hairstyle on Atoke’s head is called koroba which are done by Royal women to show greatness and prestige

THE THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS OF MOHAMMAD ARIYAEI
" Gentleness and oriental wisdom follow the supercharged bubbling to which we were accustomed from the previous deliberately art brut exhibition by Mohammad ARIYAEI. The Iranian painter's imagination moves serenely from the wildest frenzy to the meditative calm of great, fabulous stories. The artist then took pleasure in pouring the volcanic torrent of his barbaric figures onto the delicate latticework with which he is accustomed to lining his backgrounds with the patience of an illuminating monk. Already sweetness and paroxysm coexisted. Now gentleness wins. The trained imagination of the painter, yet spontaneously bubbling, by instinct as much as by erudition, has no difficulty in reconnecting with the abundant oriental tradition of the thousand and one nights, which, like a long underground river, resurfaces at the light of his painting. Spring renewal of traditions still alive. Systematic filling of space, a sort of oriental version of the Riches Heures...
