About the Item
"I stood in the liminality of love, no longer believing it was enough, not yet ready to stop feeling it. Somewhere between the ache and the awakening, I learned that love alone could not carry the weight of everything I wished it could."
Love isn't enough. Love is what ignites the connection, but it's not the only thing that keeps it flowing. Being committed. Being loyal.
Being present. Being open. Being honest. Having patience.
Having an open mind. Having respect. Showing support.
Showing your appreciation. Showing the love you express, not just in the form of words. Love isn't enough to hold things together that were meant to break. Love isn't enough to make someone love you the same. Love isn't enough to change someone, to save them from themselves. Love isn't enough to make someone stay after every mistake. I wish love were enough because heartbreak would have no place in my life. The toughest thing I was taught was; love was never enough, but that didn't mean I wouldn't stop loving it, didn't mean turn cold. It just meant I had to accept every lesson of love and free the love I lost; to welcome the healthy love I made no place for. It was unhealthy of me to believe love was a superhero.

Artist Statement
In the depths of our being, we often encounter feelings that are too profound to articulate—emotions that swirl like shadows, whispering secrets that linger just beyond the edges of understanding. My work seeks to embrace these complex feelings, giving them a canvas to breathe, shift, and resonate. My paintings generally explore the psycho-emotional aspect of everyday life. As the mind exists without form, the body acts as a window into the mind.
I tried to focus on the not-so-obvious feelings. I want to tell truths that you can see only if you care to look inward and pay attention to the details. The cyclical motifs and fading gradients in my works convey the endless flow of time, where individual lives are fleeting moments in a greater continuum. Life doesn’t wait for you to be alright; it just keeps going like an endless circle.
Each piece I create reflects my journey through the labyrinth of human experience. I explore the beauty and turmoil of emotions that can feel isolating yet are universally shared. With paint, textures, and colours, I invite viewers to confront their depths and recognize that the feelings they carry are valid and significant.
I hope that when you stand before my work, you find a connection that transcends words—a reminder that you are not alone in your struggles and triumphs. These pieces are a testament to resilience, a visual embrace that assures us all that we will be fine in the end. Together, let us navigate the intricacies of our emotions and celebrate the profound strength that comes from vulnerability.

Olumide Ajayi infuses a shade of blue colour into his painting because it reduces the stress he feels from living in his head and the raging conversations that go on in his head all the time.
