About the Item

“Tacenda” beautifully encapsulates the concept of unspoken words and the weight of silence. The illustration portrays a figure whose expression conveys a deep sense of introspection, suggesting the myriad emotions that linger beneath the surface. The use of colours evokes a feeling of melancholy, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences with topics that remain unaddressed. The juxtaposition of the serene background against the figure's contemplative pose emphasizes the tension between the desire to communicate and the choice to remain silent. Each brushstroke seems to whisper the stories that are often left untold, reminding us of the power and complexity of what we choose not to say. Through “Tacenda,” the artist invites the audience to engage in a dialogue with their silences, fostering a sense of connection and understanding in the shared human experience. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. About Artist Olumide Ajayi, born in the vibrant and culturally rich Osun State, Nigeria, is a multifaceted individual whose diverse interests and talents span writing, entrepreneurship, business management, and technology. Growing up in a region known for its deep-rooted traditions and artistic heritage, Olumide developed a profound appreciation for the arts, music, and entertainment from an early age. With an educational background in science and a stint in business management and technology, Olumide has successfully merged his entrepreneurial spirit with his passion for creativity. Olumide Ajayi infuses a shade of blue colour into his painting because it reduces the stress he feels from living in his head and the raging conversations that go on in his head all the time. Artist Statement In the depths of our being, we often encounter feelings that are too profound to articulate—emotions that swirl like shadows, whispering secrets that linger just beyond the edges of understanding. My work seeks to embrace these complex feelings, to give them a canvas on which to breathe, shift, and resonate. My paintings generally explore the psycho-emotional aspect of everyday life. As the mind exists without form, the body acts as a window into the mind. I tried to focus on the not-so-obvious feelings. I want to tell truths that you can see, only if you care to look inward and pay attention to the details. Each piece I create reflects my journey through the labyrinth of human experience. I explore the beauty and turmoil of emotions that can feel isolating yet are universally shared. In the layers of paint, textures, and colours, I invite viewers to confront their depths and recognize that the feelings they carry are valid and significant. I hope that when you stand before my work, you find a connection that transcends words—a reminder that you are not alone in your struggles and triumphs. These pieces are a testament to resilience, a visual embrace that assures us all: that we will be fine in the end. Together, let us navigate the intricacies of our emotions and celebrate the profound strength that comes from vulnerability.

Take Two, Abstract Painting
By Robin Okun
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Glowing layers of orange, yellow, and pink depict three characters immersed in deep blues, creating a luminous electric scene. "These figures evoke happy memories of my childhood, collaging layers of painted papers to create vivid abstract pictures of much younger figures," shares artist Robin Okun.

About the Artist
Robin Okun's work is both intimate and highly relatable. Her paintings reflect an incredible understanding of how we express ourselves in deeply personal moments. By focusing almost exclusively on body language and an emotionally evocative color palette, Robin encourages us to think about each character's story. And in doing so, we often find our own stories in her paintings. She layers charcoal and acrylic paint with vibrant colors, bold shapes, and fluid lines to depict forms inspired by live models, photographs, and sculpture. Robin’s visual voice is unique and recognizable. Through her work, she strives to celebrate the varied human form.
