About the Item
Presenting a lifetime masterpiece painting by American artist Palmer Schoppe (1912-2001.)
Mardi Gras: Commedia Dell’Arte, is an original oil on canvas, depicting six musicians dressed in the traditional costumes of the Italian Commedia Dell’Arte, the troupes of Italian theatrical performers that toured Italy and Europe during the 16-18th centuries.
The attention to detail is magnificent, executed in a dual chromatic pallet of black and white, however when inspected, there are myriad colors of red and blue tones enhancing the detail of each figure.
Mardi Gras: Commedia Dell’Arte, is original oil on canvas, signed, dated 1989, with an image dimension of 40 x 50 inches, set into he original thin white wood frame, acquired originally from the personal collection of the artist's family.
