Partha Mondal is an Indian contemporary artist from Kolkata. His mother being the Art and drawing teacher of the village where he grew up, inspired and motivated him. He predominantly works with media such as Wash, Gouache technique and Tempera. From a very young age, he loved reading and listening to mythological stories and epic compositions of India and thus started illustrating these mythical stories and characters, weaving the imagery with his imagination. Among his works, his favorite painting is ‘The Holy United Family’. He feels that he has represented his entire artistic journey on one canvas in this painting. He is greatly interested and inspired by the works of great artists such as Amrita Sher-Gil, Gaganendranath Tagore and Michelangelo. He has also done many commissioned painting projects for clients in U.K., Bangalore, Kolkata etc. Among these there are wall murals as well.
