In *An Intimate Moment*, Pedro Creixams captures a tender and poetic scene where two figures are immersed in a bohemian atmosphere. The guitar, symbolizing music and love, complements the affectionate gestures of the characters, whose intertwined gazes tell a story of passion and intimacy. The warm colors, loose brushstrokes, and vibrant textures reflect the influence of expressionism and the dynamic style characteristic of Creixams’ work.
Despite being unframed, the piece radiates a visual strength that highlights the artist’s sensitivity, leaving room for the collector to decide how best to present and integrate it into their collection or personal space.
Creixams, a contemporary of great masters such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and Amedeo Modigliani, shared with them the avant-garde spirit of Paris in the first half of the 20th century. Like Picasso, Creixams explored the fusion of traditional and modern elements, bringing to life intimate and human scenes with a unique expressiveness.
About the artist: Pedro Creixams
Born in Barcelona in 1893, Pedro Creixams was a prominent figure of the School of Paris, an artistic movement that brought together talents from various nationalities during the early 20th century. Close friends with artists such as Pascin, Soutine, and Modigliani, Creixams found inspiration in Montmartre and Montparnasse to develop his unique style, characterized by free strokes, masterful use of color, and a focus on everyday life.
The influence of Pablo Picasso is evident in his ability to reinterpret human emotions through a bold and modern visual language. Nevertheless, Creixams maintained his own voice, emphasizing the lyricism and introspection of his compositions.
This work invites viewers to reflect on the profound moments of human connection, framed in an aesthetic that evokes the golden age of modern art. With *An Intimate Moment*, Creixams affirms his place within the artistic tradition that elevated Barcelona and Paris as epicenters of the avant-garde, alongside giants such as Picasso, Miró, and Dalí. An essential piece for lovers of expressionist painting and 20th-century art history. Its unframed condition allows collectors to explore custom framing options to enhance its visual impact further.

Pedro Creixams
Creixams Picó, Pere. Barcelona, 9.XI.1893 – 5.III.1965. Painter. He was born into a humble family, in the Barcelona neighborhood of Poble Sec. After losing his father at the age of six, he had to work as an apprentice blacksmith. His talents as a singer and musician led him, almost by chance, to the Barcelona Liceo Conservatory, where he began to study at the age of fourteen. There he met Ricard Calvo and worked with him in different classical theater companies. Around 1914 he settled in Paris, specifically in the Montmartre district. His outgoing and open character led him to quickly establish friendships with the circle of poets, writers and artists who lived there: Duffy, Florent Fels, Georges Simenon, Segonzac, Utrillo, Othon Friesz, Modigliani and Picasso, among others.

📝 Description
This painting captures a dramatic moment in the bullfight — the classic verónica — as the matador gracefully halts the bull’s charge with a sweeping motion of the cape. The vivid contrast of magentas, blues, and golds intensifies the theatrical tension between man and beast. The composition is dynamic yet controlled, emphasizing the poise of the torero against the raw force of the bull.
The expressive brushstrokes and thick impasto enhance the sense of movement, while the abstracted background ensures focus remains on the central figures. The piece is a striking blend of figuration and emotional energy, characteristic of Tuser’s taurine works.
