This painting is a mixed media textured collage with oil paint, cigar labels, currency and assemblage on canvas. Titled: coleccionistas de recuerdos, souvenir collectors It is signed recto and signed and titled verso. Ramon Carulla, born in Havana, Cuba in 1936 moved to the United States in 1967. He has exhibited widely throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe. He has participated in personal and group exhibitions in Canada, Venezuela, Mexico and Spain and throughout the USA. During his artistic life he took part in many collective exhibitions like "I Bienal de Artistas Noveles de Cuba". Centro de Arte Internacional, Havana, Cuba, 1965. He was included too in Drawing ’85"", 7th International Drawing Biennial. Middlesbrough Fine Arts Museum, Cleveland, Reino Unido, 1985. He was also one of the selected artists for "The Latin America Graphic Arts Biennial", Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art (MOCHA), New York, U.S.A, 1986. That year he was also presented the 8 Norwegian International Print Biennale Fredrikstad 1986. Fredrikstad, Noruega, 8th International Exhibition of Graphic Art: Triennial of Graphic Art. Frechen, R.F.A. In 1995 he participated in The 3rd Sapporo International Biennial. Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, Japan. Ramon Carulla is included in the book MEMORIA: CUBAN ART OF 20TH CENTURY By Jose Veigas-zamora & Cristina Vives alongside masters like Amelia Pelaez and Wifredo Lam (Ramón Alberto Carulla) moved to the United States in 1965 and had his first one-man show exhibit shortly after in 1967 at The Bacardi Art Gallery (Miami, Florida). Since his first exhibit fifty years ago his work has been widely exhibited in multiple solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, France, Poland, Spain, Romania, Switzerland, England, Germany, Yugoslavia, Norway, Mexico, Venezuela, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Egypt and Dubai.
