Original cover for TV Guide, published May 13, 1978 featuring the “Little House on the Prairie" television drama based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books.
The series follows the 1870s adventures of the Ingalls family, who is pictured on the cover alongside Jonathan Garvey. The character Jonathan Garvey was the father of Andrew Garvey, one of Laura’s friends. Merlin Olsen, who played Jonathan Garvey, was a series regular who made his first appearance in 1977 in season 4, which is the season that would have ended shortly before the cover was published in May 1978.
