About the Item

"Flight of the Butterfly" original oil on canvas painting of a blue and green butterfly by Steve McElroy. Is there anything more timeless than a butterfly? Representing new life, new beginnings, good fortune and starting brand new everyday. 24 x 36 inches. This is the original! Beautiful archival quality limited edition of 50 hand signed prints of this artwork are available. The perfect gift! I'm so excited to be a part of the !stDibs platform. The treasure hunt here is amazing, so I hope you feel my passion for quality and love of process in my own work. I use only the finest materials and never repeat a subject, so you know that you're purchasing a one of a kind created entirely by hand. I use only Old Holland paints, which are made by hand with natural pigments and have been around since Van Gogh's era. They are still the best quality today, with vivid natural pigments that retain their beauty. I use only fine art canvases and panels, or fine handmade French papers for museum-grade archival. I never compromise on quality, and you'll notice it the minute you open the shipping box. For this reason, many of my collectors have purchased over 20 original works each, and counting. I would be so honored to work with you and your clients. I have been fortunate to have been embraced by authors and art enthusiasts over the years. You may read many articles online about my creative journey and collectability, including a new Voyages feature coming out in February 2025, and current international commercials from FedEx out now. The commercials follow me through my creative process to again remind us all of the power of our collective human imagination. All of my works are signed on the front and signed and dated on the back. My original work is in the collections of JP Morgan Chase, Mattel, Jan Showers, The Grace Museum and many other public and private collections. My work is always made by me with an exactness of hand and precise detail, there are no two originals alike. My black and white contemporary work is featured in the current book Casa Santa Fe by Rizzoli. I am a member of the prestigious Artist Rights Society of New York as a living artist. I was also honored to have been chosen by Mattel to create two interpretations of Barbie that Mattel released worldwide alongside Andy Warhol's Barbie in The Barbie Artist Series, which are widely shown online. My work is inspired by nature, music, sculpture or positive aspects of the human experience. It is my hope that any piece you collect brings you a lifetime of enjoyment, and serve as a positive reminder that everyday is a new chance to begin brand new! NOTE: Each original oil painting collected here is shipped with a handmade and signed original drawing on French paper at no extra charge, and a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Black Butterfly, Original Painting
By Kira Yustak
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
This painting is of a black swallowtail butterfly. The butterfly is painted larger than life to show all of the detail. It has a mystical quality as the butterfly seems to float above the garden with a few stars beginning to appear on a lavender sky.

About the Artist
Kira Yustak paints fantastical scenes that come from her childhood memories, dreams, and the natural world. Each piece feels like part of a larger narrative of an alternative reality, rendered in a style she describes as comic realism. She feels art must trigger something inside the viewer’s soul.Kira currently lives in New Jersey and finds inspiration in the work of Lowbrow, Folk, and Surrealist artists.

"I Can Experience Joy and Happiness" Abstract Butterfly Painting Acrylic Canvas
By Ash Almonte
Located in New York, NY
The Butterfly series for Ash began as a sentiment to her late Father. Butterflies began to appear in unexplainable ways after his passing, the artist later discovered that Butterflies represent spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life - she goes on to say: "The butterfly series draws inspiration from Rivera's quote 'Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.'" After coming to the fruition that Butterflies pose as not only a symbol for beauty and rebirth, Almonte felt a feeling of deep comfort. Her passion for sharing this message of hope and renewal through her colorfully diverse canvases is achieved with resilience leaving her audience glimmering much like the inner voice and the spark of Joie de vivre that fuels her purpose in life to create. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 48 x 48 inches Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style. She is best known for her series of Chandeliers, Butterflies, and Fashion from the Seventh Avenue Design District. Almonte's award-winning works can be found in private and permanent collections around the world. She is motivated by change, compassion for others, and miraculous phenomena that can impact others for good. Her flair and admiration for fashion and art have been a staple of her life since childhood. As a young girl, she would experiment using anything she could find to make art; from tearing apart bushel baskets at her father’s fruit stand, to tearing out old magazine clippings from her mother's magazine collection; anything and everything around her could potentially be used to create. She would continue to seek out opportunities throughout her young adult years, as her love for fashion grew, allowing her to collaborate with celebrity stylists creating looks for top billboard artists, as well as apparel worn at New York Fashion Week for designers Sherri Hill...
