This charming scene depicts uniformed men on horses in a courtyard of De Lacordaire à Dom Robert. There artist captures people strolling the tree lined street with colourful hats and parasols guarding off the afternoon sun. Dated 1918, the piece captures the fashions of early 20th century France from the smart officer uniforms to the swaying mid-length dresses of the women in the foreground. The artist has signed, titled and dated the piece to the lower right. Presented in a ornate swept gilt frame with pierces acanthus mouldings. On canvas.
