A dramatic maritime scene depicting the Battle of the Dogger Bank, a WWI naval engagement near the Dogger Bank in the North Sea. The British had intercepted and decoded German wireless transmissions, and sailed to intercept them. They surprised the German squadron and sank one of their ships. Signed to the lower left. Inscribed to the reverse. Presented in a dark wooden frame. On canvas on stretchers.
