About the Item
The scene flows with a mix of people out and very much milling about against a backdrop of high rises half hidden in mist. There’s the dandy sporting a red fedora, a white-helmeted beat cop, some tired working people at day’s end heading home. Perhaps after a stop at the bar first.
And, good heavens! what is that blue apparition to the right coming out of the fog? An escapee from a sci-fi film? Maybe. You can almost hear the director shout “Cut!” After all, you’ve frequently seen the artist’s work before in movie theaters and on the television.
Donald Daugherty is a master storyteller, developer and storyboard artist for such delightful entertainments as "Winnie the Pooh" and "Hercules," “Mulan,” "Atlantis," "Toy Story 2," “Moana,” "Tarzan," "Pocahontas," “Encanto” "Mickey, Donald, Goofy in The Three Musketeers," and "Gummi Bears," among others. He also worked on "Cow and Chicken," "Tiny Toons," "Pink Panther," and "Garfield." Indeed, Donald Dougherty knows how to keep viewers enthralled, looking for the next part of the story, just as he has done here.

Monumental original painting by listed artist Frank Nelson Ashley
The subject matter of this painting is a vibrant scene in New Orleans of the "Poo-Pah Club" jazz band, acrobat performers, finely dressed ladies, and cherubs that have fallen from the heavens to be a part of such a joyous parade. The colors are magnificent!
