Mother and Child Bathing - British Slade School 30's Art Deco nude oil painting

About the Item

An intriguing 1930's Art Deco Slade School oil on canvas painting. The work depicts a mother and child bathing, surrounded by other bathers. It possibly has religious overtones. This interesting inter war painting, similar in many ways to the religious works of the period and those of Stanley Spencer, is in excellent condition and in a fine frame. Beautiful muted colours and tones with good impasto. Provenance. Private purchase. Condition. Oil on canvas, 40 inches by 30 inches unframed and in good condition. Housed in a Bourlet frame 49 inches by 39 inches approx framed.
