Given the subject of this painting, you won't be surprised to learn that actor and artist Vincent Price was a patron of Noel Rockmore (1928-1995), this work's American artist. Additional fans included Jimmy Buffet and renowned collector Joseph Hirshorn (as in the Hirshorn Museum on Washington, D.C.'s Mall of Smithsonian Museums.) Oh, and let's not forget that Rockmore's works were additionally exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
