Large signed landscape oil on canvas circa 1920 by sought after French post impressionist painter Victor Charreton, who was known as the painter of colours. The work depicts a woman walking through a snowy village in winter. The piece is beautifully coloured. As a young man he painted the environs of Bourgoin. Skilled in capturing minute changes in the weather, he was also adept at capturing the spirit of new places.
