About the Item
Once my Austrian comrade came to visit me. He asked me if I know who Augustus Gruber is ? At the time, I had no idea about this character. It turned out that August Gruber was a supporter of Adolf Hitler and was appointed Gauleiter of Lower Austria. It s no secret that Hitler was a Disney fan and often watched cartoons with his favorite characters. Austria was largely liberated by the American army, which is symbolized by Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. August Gruber also surrendered to the American soldiers, but this did not save him from responsibility. In 1946, he was executed by the verdict of the Nurenberg court. I made this picture stylizing it to look like an old black and white movie. The picture tells about the last days of Hitler and the Austrian connection.
