About the Item

A scene of distress is depicted in this work regarding Bob the Tomato, a primary character in the acclaimed children’s animation, VeggieTales. “God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?!” challenges the formative life lessons we are taught from a young age that is not always easy to uphold. Based on a prophetic dream I had surrounding ideas of violence, familial relationships, estrangement, biblical references, revenge, and ultimately death, this painting begs the question: Can you forgive the unforgivable? This piece appeared as part of a two-person exhibition with Jason Stout in April of 2022.
