Friends and onlookers gather under a blue-grey sky as they watch and learn together from an apprentice, in this idyllic scene of people and their day on the coast plays out. The warm scene is dotted with figures in multi-color. A vibrant figurative scene that is mainly green, yellow, orange, blue and red. There is great warmth in Rushton's scenes that capture contemporary life, and leaves viewers able to to create their own interpretations. Thick. lustrous impasto oil on canvas.
