About the Item
Dionysos is an oil and mixed media painting on canvas that takes the inimitable Kate Moss and her enduring relationship with Vogue magazine as its starting point. Framed in a contemporary, black frame, signed ‘FRESSINIER’ lower left, 45 x 35 inches canvas size and 49 x 38.25 inches framed.
François Fressinier (b. 1968) is a French-born painter celebrated for his luminous figurative works that blend realism, symbolism, and a touch of magic. At the heart of his art is the human figure, especially the female face, as a timeless subject of beauty, serenity, and emotional depth. Throughout art history, the female face has captivated collectors, but Fressinier approaches it in a way that feels distinctly contemporary: not as object, but as portal. His women carry inner worlds. sometimes gazing directly outward, sometimes turned in profile or lost in reflection, inviting the viewer to project their own emotions, memories, and stories.
Raised in Cognac, France by artistic parents and classically trained at the École Brassart in Tours, Fressinier absorbed the lessons of Old Masters such as Rembrandt, Van Dyke, and Bonnard, while also drawing inspiration from contemporary icons like Andy Warhol and Ernst Fuchs. His paintings reflect this duality: rooted in history yet alive with modern imagination.
Fressinier’s layered process combines molding paste, acrylics, oils, and/or collage, creating shimmering textures that hide and reveal details over time. Mistakes become opportunities; secrets float to the surface. Figures and faces, architectural fragments, and abstract patterns, all emerge gradually through this dialogue between artist and canvas.
Exhibited and collected internationally, Fressinier’s paintings resonate with seasoned collectors and new buyers alike. In today’s market, where emotional connection and storytelling matter more than ever, his work offers intimacy without cliché, beauty without objectification, and narratives that remain open for each viewer to complete.

Francois Fressinier
Born in Cognac, France in 1968 to scholarly portrait photographer parents with an affinity for aesthetics, it was fitting that modern figurative artist, François Fressinier, would develop a unique, enchanting style. His father's admiration for the works of the Old Masters and his exposure to some of the world's most historic places, along with France's Gallo-Roman ruins and Gothic churches inclined François to explore and create figurative, symbolic artwork. In addition, his education at the Ecole Brassart in Tours afforded him the opportunity to study the drawings and paintings of old and new masters. He cites inspiration from artists like Rembrandt for showing us the soul of his sitters, Van Dyke for his elegance, Bonnard's palette, Fuchs for the fantastic world he invented; all of which influence his style today. Fressinier's process for painting involves a bit of sketching, however; he takes greater pleasure in being alone in his studio, letting his paintings speak to him and watching them appear progressively and without force. He continues to be moved by the work of other artists, frequently visiting museums and galleries and art libraries to expand his imagination. He is passionate about painting, and also enjoys spending time with his two children, gardening, reading, and playing guitar. He credits his wife, Colette, with being his muse and considers his faith in God central to his being. Fressinier's paintings have been exhibited and collected throughout the United States and internationally.

Imagine The Dream - Impasto Thick Paint Original Portrait Artwork
By Cynthia Coulombe Bégin
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Coulombe-Bégin's dynamic acrylic on canvas works seek to produce a metamorphic interpretation of the artist's inner identity. Her paintings make ample use of contrasting colors to create exuberance and energy in her images. Inspired by street art, Coulombe Bégin 's paintings range from the abstract to the surreal and employ a variety of techniques and materials. Her contemporary artworks draw inspiration from body image, the universally recognizable symbol of hearts, and the experience of humankind. She brings a sensitivity to her work that stems from her exploration of identity and the joy and happiness of existence. Coulombe-Bégin draws us into her internal world: exploring the soul and matter, conscience, and the modern universe.
This original figurative pop art painting measures 40 inches square. The thickly textured paint is applied with tactile brushwork. It is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Coulombe-Bégin’s work portrays from colorful hearts to specific parts of the human body, especially large close-up portrayals of the mouth and eyes, which are depicted with great contrasts of color and chiaroscuro. These symbols are constructed with specific gestures and drippings in which Coulombe-Bégin expresses an abstract universe full of movement, symbolism, and eroticism.
Born in Miami, Coulombe-Bégin grew up in Quebec City where she earned a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2006 from Laval University. Starting very young, her parents focused a great deal on both the arts and athletics which helped her develop her own mode of expression.
“I am particularly interested in the fragmented corporal shell, which I emphasize through spontaneous movement and vivid colors.” stated Coulombe-Bégin. “My experience with painting has led me to see things differently, to self-discovery and to great astonishment."
Coulombe-Bégin's works have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including Canada, the United States, Europe, South America, and Australia.
