About the Item
Today's Weher Windmill was the bishop's mill until 1650, then until 1732 it was owned by the Rahden church as a state royal mill. The mill was then sold to different owners. The last miller family was the Wiegmann family. In 1953, the mill was shut down. After the milling operation was shut down in 1953, it was threatened with final decay. The Weher local hometown club took over the mill in 1979 and the Minden-Luebbecke mill district association lovingly restored it in 1983.
