This painting is an artwork built up in many layers of paint which gives the painting structure. It has dark blues and greens with colorful details in red, yellow and white.The dark colors give the painting depth. It is inspired by the pond paintings by Monet. The artist lives at the side of a canal which is also a source of inspiration. Ponds are always calming and peaceful. I hope that viewers will experience a sense of that calming when looking at this painting. This painting is the first of 2 paintings is this serie. It is signed on the front, varnished and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Pictures of the painting in situ are for display only and might not show the painting at a realistic scale.
