About the Item

More than Art an installation, this exquise painted screen paravent is painted in both side ( back side from the picture number 11 ). Each panel is 40 cm,. Too many people have the idea that art caters to the eyes. Marielle's works go beyond contemplation, her paintings as the minimalist engravings, confront us with the beauty of a quiet force. Unconsciously the round and polished shapes must be part of the authenticity of the landscapes of her childhood in the Bretagne. Marielle Guégan is a painter and engraver. During her studies as an interior designer, she is passionate about drawing and revelation of color with its different impacts related to organics forms. From the beginning, her work is oriented towards the abstract and opens to recurring themes of strength and time. In the last canvases, the forms are like snapshots capturing dense or light vibrations ... Between shine and dullness, the strength of reliefs and flat areas, optional colors and creative blacks, these pictorial rhymes express themselves. After four years of the study in the Atelier of engraving at the F. Denon workshop (Atelier Beaux-Arts of the city of Paris). She get more involve in the technique of engraving: etching is it preference and It allows her to create the material until the cutting of the matrix sometimes. The constant use of black in the paintings and engravings of Marielle Guégan corresponds to the desire to remove the superficial. Her artistic approach is directed towards the universality of the sign to arouse an inner meeting of the spectator. Marielle was born in 1966 in Nevers. She lives and works in Paris. Several of her works have gone on sale in Paris and she has collectors in Europe, Morocco and the United States. Among his latest publications in the press: AD Architectural Digest (January 2011), the cover of the Christmas catalog Le Notre Christmas 2010, Artension, Azart and Paris Capitale in 2008.
