Project "Photos from a trash bin". # 2, Painting, Oil on Canvas

2020

About the Item

Project "Photos from a trash bin". # 1 I have always been attracted by spoiled pictures. What is called a technical defect. Something that definitely flies into the trash. In fact, they have a lot of hidden meanings and unsolved concepts. even if all this was born or happened by accident, like a mistake. I have always dreamed of painting a picture that consists only of mistakes. Maybe I'm as close to my goal as ever. Or maybe this is another mirage, followed by another, and more, and more. But while I'm interested in errors. Semantic, technical, artistic. I don't think you should rush to throw bad photos in the trash. Great inspiration can come from them. :: Painting :: Contemporary :: This piece comes with an official certificate of authenticity signed by the artist :: Ready to Hang: Yes :: Signed: Yes :: Signature Location: front :: Canvas :: Diagonal :: Original :: Framed: No

The White Church, Rumford Center, Oil Painting
By Doug Cosbie
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Doug says of this pastoral American landscape, "On Highway 2 along the Androscoggin River in Maine is the village of Rumford Center, where there is a small United Church. Its simple design and white facade are an iconic symbol of 19th century America. The church hasn't changed over the years, but the surroundings have. This painting is how I perceive the church and things were back in the simpler times when agriculture was the primary livelihood of its parishioners."
