About the Item

We offer complimentary worldwide shipping and cover all tariffs and import taxes for this artwork. In “Picked Cherry,” Dani Humberstone distills the essence of nature’s sweetness into a single, gleaming form. Rendered in lush oil on canvas, this jewel-toned cherry is suspended in rich darkness, its lustrous skin glowing with a subtle inner light. The curved golden stem arcs gracefully, adding an elegant gesture that animates the composition while balancing the deep, saturated red of the fruit. Though intimate in scale, the painting commands presence — the cherry becomes both a sensory memory and an object of admiration. Humberstone’s refined technique brings a velvety finish to the surface, allowing light to dance delicately across the curves of the form. Each detail, from the faint dimples in the skin to the natural asymmetry of the stem, whispers of life and careful attention. This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. Artist Bio: Born in London, Dani attended a Rudolph Steiner school before studying fashion in Brighton. After which she returned to her original love of painting and drawing, freelancing for years as an artist before setting up a publishing company where she worked as the principal artist and designer. After many years in business, she left publishing and turned to painting full time. Dani was Vice-President of the Society of Women Artists for five years becoming Director when she stepped down. The winner of several awards for painting, she is regularly invited to exhibit at the Florence Biennale and has been selected to show at the RA Summer Exhibition. She continues to show regularly in the UK, Europe, Asia & the USA. Using principally the imagery of fruit in much of her work, her interest is largely in its metaphorical and symbolic use in the visual arts as well as strong links to language, examples include the Bible, myth and fairy tale, branding, popular culture, language, literature and as symbols of power, passion, and fertility. The use of traditional painting techniques, strong light and shade or chiaroscuro creates a sense of drama. There is a surreal quality and humour in much of her work but importantly there is also a respectful nod to the painters of the Renaissance and many influences from the Dutch Golden Age of the principally 17th century. Immerse yourself in their beauty from the comfort of your home or visit our London gallery to experience them in person. “As a painter I can tear the visual curtain to reveal a microscopic world within worlds, layered memory and the inclusion of personal objects, the work almost becomes portraiture.” Also, “Within my work I aspire to fuse the still-life tradition and Vanitas painting within a contemporary context, using both familiar objects and ideas.”- Dani Humberstone SWA

Cherries - original realism still life painting - contemporary Art
Located in London, Chelsea
This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. A feast of form and color, Cherries by Heinz Schönhammer is a celebration of pure, gleaming abundance. The canvas overflows with clusters of ripe, red fruit, each cherry painted with a mirror-like sheen that catches and reflects light in dazzling variation. The repetition of round forms and taut skin creates a rhythm that pulses with life and ripeness. Schönhammer’s hyperrealist style turns the surface into a field of sensual delight—light glances across glossy surfaces while stems curve like elegant calligraphy. Deep burgundies, bright crimsons, and inky purples intermingle, lending the composition a velvety richness that’s as tactile as it is visual. Cherries is a vibrant ode to color, excess, and nature’s indulgence, elevated to visual poetry through masterful control of light and tone. This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. Artist Biography: Heinz Schönhammer was born in Vienna, Austria. After completing his fine art studies, he sought artistic inspiration across Europe, traveling to the Netherlands and Germany before eventually settling in Turin, Italy. There, he established significant connections with notable Italian artists such as Antonio Carena, Lucio Fontana, and Piero Ruggeri...

Sean Farrell, "Lit Up Life", 12x9 Red Cherry Fruit Still Life Oil Painting
Located in Saratoga Springs, NY
"Lit Up Life", is a 12x9 oil painting on board by artist Sean Farrell. Featured is an arrangement of freshly picked red cherries overflowing a polished gold metal bowl. The graceful direction of the cherry stems create movement and flow in this harmonious piece. Strong shadows cast onto the linen cloth underneath. Rich tones of orange and reds contrast the green stems. About the artist: “As I paint at my easel each day in the studio, I approach creating art with the idea of continually developing my artistic understanding and enhancing my personal expression,” writes Sean Farrell of his philosophy of life as an artist. Farrell, who grew up in a small town where there were few opportunities for formal art education, began drawing on his own at a young age and through intense study of the great artists he found in library books began to nurture his innate talent. He writes of his younger years, “Looking at great paintings always excited me and by visiting museums [and] studying numerous art books…I gradually began to increase my artistic understanding,” which led Farrell to teach himself to paint with oils in the late 1980’s and then eventually to attend a painting workshop in New Mexico in the early 1990’s where he met numerous professional artists, who inspired him to a full-time artistic career. Internationally, the prestigious Florence Biennale invited the artist to participate and exhibit work in Florence, Italy. NYARTS Magazine covered the exhibition and in their published review gave the following praise to the works of Sean Farrell… “Works deserving special attention was Sean Farrell’s exquisitely painted flower and fruit arrangements. Eye-catching with his use of dramatically bold colors mixed with delicate detail in a very modern old-master style.” Choosing to travel extensively throughout Italy and also to other regions of Europe over attending art school, the artist has studied and learned from the great master works in the history of art. His paintings reveal his affection for the 17th century Italian and Dutch painters while still remaining truly unique. Mr. Farrell’s works are distinctive for their elegant and graceful compositions, his rich jewel like color, and an elevated sensitivity to the beautiful nuances of light. His works reveal a master’s touch and a quiet ease. Sean Farrell is internationally recognized and a highly collected artist. He is known for his vivid and luminous oil paintings...
