Artist Comments
"This is a view of the 17th century stone house that my art professor at Gettysburg College lived in," shares artist Jay Jensen. "The window view is from inside the house and I performed a montage in the composition from another photo taken from the outside. The outside photo was taken in April 2019 when the Pennsylvania countryside was in full springtime splendor. I tried to capture those incredible colors in my painting."
About the Artist
Jay Jensen enjoys capturing the unique magic of a dramatic sky or the late afternoon light. He currently lives in Canada and has been influenced by the work of Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth. Jay considers himself a figurative painter, but particularly loves painting ocean views. He does a lot of glazing which make his works even more luminous in person.
