About the Item

Found It, Original Signed Contemporary Satirical Surrealist Painting, 2014 18" x 11" x 1.625" Gouache on Wood Panel Hand-signed by the artist. When socks go missing, this disarticulated human arm can find them! In this dream-like surrealistic painting by artist Megan Frazer a laundry basket full of blue, red, and yellow clothing sits upon a textured wooden floor, broken up by a bodiless arm holding up a single red child's sock. A textured blue wall makes up half of the composition, with a small window showcasing a bird mid-flight. Artist Commentary: Surrealistic image of hand emerging from laundry basket with found sock, bird through window. About the Artist: Megan Frazer is a Seattle based artist inspired by the natural world. The weather, the sky, the changing light and colors as well as the infinite variety and beauty of plant and animal life all find their way into her work. • Dessert - Still Life Table Setting with Fruit, Wine and Flowers, Oil on Panel
    By John Hrehov
    Located in Chicago, IL
The artist is a master at storytelling. He sets the stage for the viewer to bring the events to a particular scene. Here, the artist has set two wine glasses, napkins and a small plate of desserts on a geometrically patterned table cloth, draping so it almost appears to be falling over the frame. The viewer is required to ask the questions about the scene but the answers may only lie in their own imagination. The painting, which is painted on canvas then mounted to a panel, is framed in a simple wooden frame measuring 21 x 30 inches. • Studio 2006, Pointillist Interior Painting, Artist Studio
    Located in Kent, CT
In this pointillist interior scene, an artist's studio is carefully painted in colorful dots in acrylic and gouache on Duralar mounted on panel. Signed and dated on verso. Kirstin Lamb’s gridded, meticulously detailed paintings on transparent acetate are labor-intensive paintings of labor-intensive textiles and patterns. To create these embroidery paintings, Lamb starts by generating a digitized grid and painstakingly painting each individual gridded stitch by hand using acrylic and gouache on a wet media acetate. The process creates a one-to-one relationship of mark to stitch, the act of each brushstroke serving for the stitch of a needle. Lamb’s embroidery paintings draw patterns from French floral wallpaper of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, while others draw inspiration from vintage embroidery patterns...
