Jacques Fernand GONIN
A very good and typical example of his work. The canvas is in very good condition with no patches or reline. It is signed clearly in the top left hand corner.

Gonin was a painter of genre scenes and portraits.
He was born in Milan, Italy on the 14th December 1883 before moving to France where he spent the large majority of his life. Living at 7 Rue Lalo in Paris.
He exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Francais where he received a silver medal in 1921.
Gonin spent a period of his life in England where he exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
