About the Item
Pink with black, green and blue, vibrant action painting by Mexican-American contemporary visual artist and celebrated architect Javier Arizmendi-Kalb, who creates autobiographical paintings that are comprised of both abstract and representational elements that consider the natural world as it intersects with utilitarian and architectural design. 'No Me Olvides', which translates from Spanish into English, 'Don't Forget Me' is 72 x 72 inches, and is created in two parts that hang side by side. Each individual panel is 72 x 36 inches. 'No Me Olvides' is from a series of paintings that characterize sacred spaces such as Mexican chapels and Middle Eastern mosques, where strong light enters the interior space though small and controlled apertures, endowing light with symbolic meaning.
The action painting is multicolored with mainly pink and black is texturally rich when viewed up close. Oil paint and oil crayon on hand-stretched cotton canvas (in two parts). Artist initials are on the front of the canvas, and it is signed, titled and dated Verso. Condition as new. Excellent. Unframed. Ready to hang.
