About the Item
I spent a few hours at a local homeless shelter, taking reference images for a portrait project. This lady offered to sit for me. Very shy and wary of me at first, but after a while was able to tell me her story. She had been through a very tough time and it is etched onto her face somewhat. She asked that if I paint her, could I please call the work 'In My Heart' as a tribute to her husband who had died a few months prior to our meeting. My proceeds from the sale of this work will be donated to Shekinah Mission, Plymouth.
