About the Item
This is Brian, local to my area, he spent virtually every day dressed in full Elizabethan costume ( hand crafted by his late wife) as Sir Francis Drake. Seen daily in and around Plymouth, he became somewhat of a celebrity over the past 40 years. At his sitting he asked what he should do, I handed him my phone explaining that I think it would make a quirky contrast. This made him chuckle ( he didn't even own a mobile phone) , but he struggled to focus on it so held it aloft, I thought it looked rather theatrical, so the moment was captured. Sadly Brian passed away suddenly before he got to see his finished portrait.
