She did it with such mastery and it was so unexpected to hear something that stellar at that point in my life that I leaped to my feet to applaud at the end. I almost never gave standing ovations because it takes a lot to cause me to lose myself to the point of jumping up. Her performance did. That sort of momentarily stunned sensation is what I seek in my art. Sometimes the result causes it. Sometimes the act of making art causes it. Sometimes my art reminds me of an experience like described here. Either way, it's what drives me in almost all of my life endeavors, playing music, teaching music, making art, teaching art, being with family. All of it."
