"In college, I once went to an Atlanta Symphony concert where there was a guest vocal soloist. She performed a modern piece where she used her voice to make the piano strings vibrate and sound as part of the melody. She held the entire audience spellbound. Throughout the performance, you could have heard a pin drop. She did it with such mastery and it was so unexpected to hear something that stellar at that point in my life that I leaped to my feet to applaud at the end. I almost never gave standing ovations...
