About the Item
In this piece, the artist depicts "La Madeleine" in an abstract and impressionistic way, capturing the magic of Paris from the 20th Century with much life. The flower sellers and tree lined street is executed with precise detail. The artist mostly used oil with a pallet knife, with impasto paint, and then by using subtle brush strokes with a wide color pallet, a beautiful rendition of the street with figures is accomplished. This piece is executed whimsically, yet dramatically evoking an emotion of wonder and beauty. The painting comes displayed in a wood frame with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
