A wonderful 1949 oil painting on panel by Birger Sandźen depicting a farmhouse in a Lindsborg, Kansas landscape with hay shocks, trees and clouds.
Cori North of the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery has kindly confirmed that this painting, Smoky Valley Farm of 1949, is identified as #2121 in their database.
PROVENANCE: Acquired directly from the artist in 1949/1950 by a private Kansas City collector. Thence by descent. A 1950, hand written letter from Birger Sandźen to the original owner will accompany the painting.
The painting dimensions are 20 x 24 inches. The framed dimensions are approximately 28 x 32 inches.
