"The heat and brightness of noon light on the remnants of this beautiful tree stand strong," shares artist Donna Corvi. A large leafless tree defiantly stands straight and proud in a backdrop of cool blue skies. Its appearance reflects the wispy clouds traveling swiftly through the wind.
About the Artist
Artist Donna Corvi paints colorful expressionist views of tree branches, wind and the ever-changing seasons. "I love trees and I hope that I bring a new awareness about trees to people," says Donna. "Don't take trees for granted! The earth needs them–we need them to exist. Care for them–plant them!" Donna was born and raised in New York City, where she attended The High School of Art and Design and later graduated from Parsons School of Design with a degree in Illustration. For twenty years, she worked in the city as a freelance commercial illustrator. Using watercolor, airbrush and colored pencil, she sought out projects in advertising, publishing, greeting cards and children's games. As illustration work shifted to digital design, Donna felt a natural pull to transition to a career in painting. "It has given me the artistic freedom and fluidity I desired, and the hands on messiness of mixing paints and colors." Today, she takes daily walks along the water, in the woods and across fields to record her reference material. Her art is frequently shown at the Long Island Museum, The Heckscher Museum of Art, and The Salmagundi Club Art Gallery in New York.

- "Blue Horizon" impasto acrylic landscape painting of clouds over dunes and waterBy Paul NorwoodLocated in Edgartown, MAPaul Norwood paints the world around him, blurring the lines between representation and abstraction. His loose, gestural style and bold, thick brushwork suggest rather than define forms, creating sensation without being overly insistent. The deconstruction of his imagery into an array of simple shapes and saturated colors expresses a heightened sense of reality and breathes life into his subject matter. Paul is based in the Bay Area, but has been painting on both coasts for over 20 years. He’s had solo and group shows in many galleries across the country and is included in the collections of Sir Richard...Category

- Calls in the Manitou Passage - Photorealistic Painting of Bald Eagle ScreechingBy Rick PasLocated in Chicago, ILA male bald eagle screeches to be heard above the stormy backdrop of Lake Michigan's Manitou Passage in Northern Michigan. Extraordinarily painted with such realistic detail, this majestic bird's feathers beg for the viewer to come in for a closer look at its plumage. The piece is framed in a simple black wooden frame measuring 31 x 51 inches. Rick Pas Calls in the Manitou Passage acrylic on panel 28h x 48w in 71.12h x 121.92w cm RPA022 ARTIST'S STATEMENT Creating is an addiction. With all the highs and lows you would expect. I am interested in the surface textures and creating paintings that portray them in realistic detail. Hopefully a viewer will feel they can run a hand over the feathers and moss, or grasp an object in the painting. This detail is usually composed in an abstract design. The design can occur naturally or be arranged by me.
