This landscape is made by Dutch artist Eric Schutte. The painter painted it, standing in the landscape, en plein air.
Eric Schutte lives and works in Ommen, in the North East of the Netherlands . He describes his art, paintings and sculptures, as Modern Conceptual Realism. Conceptual because he likes to tell you something else besides the beauty of his subject. In the series he made for his solo exhibition it is about 'The Moment' (Momentum).
The use of fresh colors, broad brushstrokes, an an underlying sketch in magenta, beautiful light makes it all very unique and special.

Eric Schutte
Eric Schutte is an artist who makes both conceptual and classical work. He studied at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in bachelor of education arts in 2001. Schutte says, “The conceptual work consists of a figurative design in which the non-obvious use of materials is part of the imagination. The concept also plays a major role in classical work, but the material is more traditional. I consider making images as a continuous game and research in which the idea and the design are equal and influence each other”. Schutte has made Acrylic paintings in the snow, outside in the cold and also a number of his works are made of waste plastic. Schutte tells about his painting of a forest made from waste plastic, “We make a waste mountain from nature, I make nature from waste again. The work is called biotope, our living environment. Nature, but at the same time, our environment is plastic. If later excavations are made to this time, the main thing that will be found will be plastic. We live in a plastic age.”

Peter Durieux signed again in the Netherlands. Anyone who knows the artist knows that his drawings are the source for the paintings he makes. These drawings, made in the landscape, form an important part in the oeuvre of the Groningen artist. The "plein air draftsman" draws a few mornings or afternoons per drawing to the same place. He records how the light shows the landscape. It is important for Durieux that the light is the same as the day before, which is why the artist always opts for the same moments of the day in the same place. The tonal landscapes show a silence and an unparalleled intimacy. Peter Durieux signed for this exhibition in Brabant on the Strabrechtse Heide (near Nuenen in Heeze) and in Groningen, the province where he lives. He made paintings from these drawings. In addition to the Dutch work, there is also new "French" work on display. Drawing is watching. Durieux's paintings and drawings are created in various steps. Peter studies his landscapes while he draws. "Drawing is watching," he likes to tell his students at the Classical Academy in Groningen. Twice a year he travels to "Le Coulet", a small hamlet in the French Ardêche.
