Depicting a moody landscape in the New Forest, Hampshire. The foreground with a muddy path, leading toward the background of cattle and trees.
In a beautiful period gilt wood frame, with beaded and cove decoration.

43cm x 32cm framed
Condition:
Generally good condition, frame somewhat scratched and marked
Biography:
Frederick Golden Short was a British painter, who specialised in landscapes. Short was born in Lyndhurst, situated in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire. Growing up in such close proximity to the New Forest, this is a common subject of his paintings. Short worked primarily with oils, and occasionally watercolour.
Short exhibited at the leading galleries of the time, including The Royal Academy of Arts, The Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and the New Gallery.
