Milosevic pays special attention in her impressionist style artworks to dispense with any representation of land or sky, only adding silhouettes of people to emphasize the meaning of perspective, the flow of time, and the speed of life. Milosevic pays special attention in her artworks to dispense with any representation of land or sky, only adding silhouettes of water lilies and their reflection in the water to emphasize a meaning of perspective, the flow of time, and speed of life. By combining lilies sitting atop curiously colorless lily pads, using expressive brushwork, Milosevic strives to make the viewer feel in the present moment and not in the past.
This one-of-a-kind 24 inch high by 48 inch wide artwork is created with acrylic paint on canvas. This artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides are painted and it does not require framing. Ivana Milosevic was born in Serbia in 1972. In 1998 she graduated from Belgrade University with a Master’s degree in Architecture. Since 2000 she has been practicing architecture in Municipality of Trstenik specializing in urban design and city planning. As a deputy Mayor of Trstenik, Ivana has transformed the city into a modern and contemporary living environment. Her passion for city planning and engaging public landscapes becomes visible in her painting.
“Through my professional practice, cityscapes are the main theme of my artworks. I explore the structure of the city, explore the construction, visual impressions, through various problems in the city. I put layers and layers of oil paint on canvas, trying to rebuild the parts and pieces; life and its beauty!”
Ivana Milosevic's paintings have been exhibited and collected internationally.
