Jacques Martin-Ferrières
French Landscape, Peupliers à St Cirq Lapopie

1922

About the Item

A fresh Spring landscape by a very well noted French Impressionist and son of famed Henri Martin. Would bring a lovely window type view to any room as the colors are fresh. Brushwork is beautiful in person as is the sense of light and time of year. Frame is quiet and a bit more on the contemporary side and not original to the painting and it could work well in a more relaxed environment.

  • Boothbay Harbor, Maine from the Hill
    Located in Greenwich, CT
Best known for his painterly landscape views, Oberteuffer developed a fresh and vigorous style, using a subdued color palette with agile brushstrokes that was influenced by French Impressionism. Boothbay Harbor from the Hill is a wonderful example of this style of painting and shows Oberteuffer’s mastery of subtle color. It is an added plus that Oberteuffer has specifically referenced a clearly identifiable locale- Boothbay Harbor- in his title and additionally denoted that the view was painted from the hillside, potentially capturing actual homes and buildings of the time. Framed in a Gold Leaf Whistler style frame of exceptional quality. The painting has vivid and fresh color and creates a window in any room. The canvas inside the frame measures 30 x 24 inches. Signed: Oberteuffer lower right Provenance: Estate of George Oberteuffer...

  • Maurice Lobre (1862 -1951) The snack
    By Maurice Lobre
    Located in BELEYMAS, FR
