Old Barn Scene of a Farm in the English Countryside by 20th Century British Landscape Artist, James Wright. Signed, vintage original, oil on heavy grain linen, reframed in a high quality natural solid oak moulding with a white insert. Art measures 26 x 17 inches Frame measures 31 x 22 inches (approx.) James Wright was born in Peterborough in 1935 and now lives in Lincolnshire. James is a self-taught artist and a leading exponent of the traditional English landscape style. His early work concentrated on the busy fishing villages around the coast of Norfolk, Cornwall and Sussex. More recently, his traditional landscapes mainly feature the East Anglian and Lincolnshire countryside.

    Henry John Yeend King (1855-1924) was a landscape and rustic genre painter. He began his artistic career by working for three years in a glassworks. King went on to study painting under William Bromley in London, and also with Bonnat and Cormon in Paris. He exhibited from 1874 to 1924 at The Royal Academy and The New Watercolour Society. He was elected to the Royal Society of British Artists in 1879, the Royal Institute in 1886, later becoming Vice President. He was also a member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
